Alright I’m Sick Of This Shit: White Girls That Rap

There’s more to rap and hiphop than just reciting words that rhyme. Anyone can do that. Rat. Cat. Baseball Bat. Facebook Chat. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

There’s actual lyrics and content, and most importantly (at least to me) flow. What’s the point of rapping fast like a coked up chihuahua if it just sounds off and  impersonal? I guess what really annoys me is that [BIG JUDGMENTAL LEAP, HERE WE GOOO!] all these girls, like Kreyshawn and all those other YouTube girls, probably got started because one of their token black friends or a bunch of their collegiate frat buddies encouraged them to “spit a couple bars” during a particularly drug-infused and intoxicated night.

And after realizing that this white chick could rap really fast or rap really monotone (see: Kreayshawn), they thought hey let’s make a bunch of YouTube videos! And so they did, and they did it successfully too, and I guess I really shouldn’t knock anyone’s method to making it into the spotlight, but this trend of “rapping white girls” is really getting old. So is middle class white kids rapping about college life and weed but that’s a whole ‘nother story.

Hmm I should’ve talked about this posted video. But it encapsulates everything I just wrote about.
