How sick are these sneakers? I’ve been planning for my trip to Hong Kong & Taiwan for like.. three days so I’m on the ultimate hustle to find comfortable (hate that word) and stylish shoes- I haven’t really come up with anything besides stubbs & wootens. What can I say, sneakers just don’t go with my look. Regardless, I’m totally having a sneakerhead moment so just play along…

This is probably the chicest collaboration I’ve seen so far – Manolo Blahnik for J. Crew. My heart skipped a beat when I first read the news, ladies (and some gents) this is going to be so magical I don’t think I can contain myself. The shoes are going to be sold online this fall. So yesterday, I named Rihanna as the best dressed artist at the Grammys while the Grammys were still going on. And today, after a night of amazing sleep (12 hour straight), my mind is clear and I’m ready to go on a little Nicki Minaj rant.
Here it goes, when I saw Nicki on the red carpet I was a little hyped to see what she was wearing under that red Versace number.. but she never ripped it off, the red Versace cape gown was her outfit? Immediate disappointment. So the night went on and finally it was time for her performance (view above). At this point her choice of fashion made sense, kuddos for her for keeping character the whole show. I have to give her props for being “daring” and whatever. HOWEVER, that song sucked. I actually loved the story line and thought it was quite clever but damn that song was painful to listen to! I personally think she shoulda just asked Sophia Grace and Rosie to perform Super Bass with her.

I am beyond obsessed with Lifestyle Mirror. They officially launched today and though I NEED an espresso I can’t get off my laptop because the website is actually beyond. The idea behind the site is quite genius, if you scroll over the red marks it says where you can buy the product – very clever and much more interesting than going to the corner of a page to figuring all that out. Additionally they have covers on Fashion Week shows, a how to section, trends, beauty, and my personal favorite.. horoscopes!

It’s pretty clear that Rihanna was best dressed for the Grammys this year. In fact, she’s the only person worth mentioning. Yes, Nicki Minaj looked a fool – what else is new? If Fergie had styled her Jean Paul Gaultier dress with a different hairstyle and jewelry I would have liked it more.
I’m sick of artists trying to be over the top (but thats my personal opinion, I’d rather a minimal and subtle moment then a little red riding hood moment any day). Fashion is supposed to be fun, but you shouldn’t look like you’ve tried so hard – even if you did. I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with the fashion from the Grammys.

Holy. Crap. The silk cape seen above was made from about 1.2 Million Golden Orb Spiders; they spin a very unique golden silk. The spun silk was then hand-woven into fabric and developed. [WP]
